Creating the Bear!

Cassandra Hill is bring Future Bear to life!

How do you make a jet pack again?

The Future Bear project has always relied on a collaborative dialogue. From Rachel Simmons and I presenting at TEDx Orlando to our forthcoming appearance at MegaCon on April 10th at 4:00pm in room 205 BC, we continue to evolved the project. In the last year Future Bear has intersected with the teaching in and out of the classroom in a number of ways. We have taught kids between ages of 8 and 12 about climate change through session at the Cornell Fine Arts Museum families events. We have lectured high school students participating in Rollins College's Upward Bound and Talent Search programs and we have done our fair share of gallery talks.   In the midst of these interactions, we have allowed kids to extend the Future Bear story. They have created amazing twist and turns that demonstrate both imagination and clarity about what is at stake when we discuss climate change.  As we move forward, we are bringing Future Bear to our undergraduate students and they are continuing the pattern of creativity and innovative thinking we have seen in younger children.  This is why we are especially excited to see what Cassandra Hill will do with her Future Bear project. Cass has jumped at the chance to bring Future Bear to life on the convention floor.  It will be something to see. If you are at MegaCon as see a bear with a jet pack, follow her and learn to live in world addresses climate change.
